Despite her husband's heartfelt plea that she give their marriage another try, Jessica Simpson filed for divorce from Nick Lachey on Dec. 16, ending the couple's three-year run as America's sweethearts. So imagine Nick's surprise when he got that first late-night call from his soon-to-be ex. "He must have been shocked to hear from her," says a source close to the couple.
