It might sound the opposite but this means eating food with high water or fiber content like fruits and vegetables. They are example of low energy density food which means that they contain low calories. High density foods contain a lot of calories like cracker, meats and dairy food because of this you will end up eating more.

If you cut down your daily calories intake from 2,000 to 1,500 by eating small portion every meal, chances are you will feel hungry before your next meal. The best way to solve this problem is by adding some low energy density foods in your meal. In this way you enjoy eating a low calorie food and the increased volume will prompt stomach receptor to signal your brain that you’re full. The end result is you feel good about yourself without having the guilt of eating a lot of food.
